We are Emu Analytics

We want to recruit a smart, methodical and talented software developer who wants to join a growth stage start-up (one that is already working with some of the UK’s most innovative companies in aviation, rail, maritime and highways) as we move towards significantly expanding our team, clients and outlook. We are looking for someone to grow with us, and to shape and evolve the role and the responsibilities accordingly.

Emu Analytics is a tech SME founded in 2015. We are a young, innovative software company that is helping to revolutionise how businesses derive value from location data. Our products enable organisations operating within digital twins, telematics, transportation and infrastructure to access, analyse and visualise complex and fast-moving data in an easy to understand way.

Our small team is innovative, massively talented and entrepreneurial in what we do and how we serve our clients. We work hard to understand our clients’ business challenges before presenting how our solutions can address these. This is reflected by the incubators, corporate accelerators and innovation funding we have received to date along with a growing client list that includes large corporates such as British Airways, Gatwick Airport, The UK Civil Aviation Authority, Vodafone and TfL. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking company, which prides itself on flexibility of thinking and a genuinely innovative approach to data science and data visualisation. We are also a fun-loving team, with regular get togethers to celebrate our success throughout the year.

Who are we looking for?

We seek talented and technically articulate individuals who are comfortable working with data and can approach problems in a methodical manner in order to deliver clean, efficient and production-ready code. Ideally, we are looking for people who can work as part of a delivery team, either remotely or in person, effectively collaborating to deliver code on-time and to a high standard. The right person will be a quick learner, analytical by nature and adept at the manipulation and analysis of data in various forms.

You need to have worked in a developer or data analyst role for at least the last 2-3 years and be degree level, or equivalent.

The role is split between remote home and onsite working at our central London office.

What will you be doing?

Your primary role will be to develop location analytics applications using our in-house Flo.w platform. You will mainly be working as part of a team of developers, tackling different aspects of the application, from data ingestion and data analytics, to front-end development. Occasionally for smaller projects you will have sole responsibility for the development of all aspects of the application.

You will be working within the Emu delivery team alongside other talented developers and analysts on a variety of different projects for clients across a broad spectrum of industries.

You will be expected to take responsibility for the quality of the code you develop and to perform unit and component testing on it as you develop. As part of the development team you will also be involved in assisting with release and end-to-end testing of software under the control of the test manager.
